Persell endorsed in 4A

John Persell was endorsed over the weekend by the DFL for House District 4A, the seat that will be vacated when Rep. Frank Moe (DFL-Bemidji) leaves office at the end of the year.

CASS LAKE — Beneath John Persell’s soft-spoken, low-key approach lies common-sense issues that will woo voters to send him to St. Paul, he says.

And House 4A Democrats agree, as they unanimously endorsed the Bemidji environmental consultant to carry their banner this fall for the post in an endorsing convention Saturday morning at The Palace Casino near Cass Lake.

“I’m not going to give up who I am,” Persell told 45 delegates. “That makes me who I am — my garden, my wood pile, my kids and grandkids.”
