This one is for the awards

When I worked in radio, there were stories you covered as part of your daily routine and there were stories that you were told were “awards” stories. These weren’t necessarily the top story of the day, but were compelling enough to enter in contests in order to win trophies and fodder for your resume. You would roll out the touching music and haunting ambient sound for such stories and pretend like you worked that hard all the time. (Media people: You KNOW what I’m talking about).

Well, they don’t give awards to bloggers. Not to podunk bloggers like me, anyway, but I do have a three part series of posts I’m working on that I hope to roll out tomorrow that are just far enough off the beaten path to be considered worthy of the title “A Very Special MinnesotaBrown.” The series endeavors to explore the role of generational attitudes in this and probably the next several elections here in northern Minnesota and around the country. I’ll be cross posting at MNBlue. I hope you enjoy the effort.
