Comment insanity at the MDN

The Mesabi Daily News is the Range’s largest newspaper. Its online comments section is like Lord of the Flies. Look. Do not get involved; these are stray dogs not to be petted. OMG. (And, no, I am not one of the commenters).

Comments

  1. Crazy. Literally. So between the three hub cities on the Range, (Grand Rapids, Hibbing, Virginia), do Republicans have more of a following in some more than others?

After looking through the comments on the MDN website one could ascertain that Virginia has quite a Right Wing Crazy population. Or is this because of the broad area of wilderness this newspaper covers and not necessarily Virginia itself?

  2. Generally speaking, the Range averages about 65-80 DFL index along the central corridor. Grand Rapids is the most conservative city and you get lots of rustic conservatives as you move north or south of the corridor of Range towns, to the point where some of those precincts are GOP.

Virginia is not a conservative city, but the MDN is a center right publication. And the conservatives in the area are, as you can see, vocal. They shout the liberals off the site.

  3. That Bah Fungu guy is posting as seven or eight different people, and he’s not particularly good at disguising it. What’s even more hilarious is he keeps complimenting his other personas. “I agree with you completely, Wendy.” “Why, thank you, Joe!”

My website used to have a problem with psychos posting weird comments, and using multiple names to do so. Then I adjusted it so the person’s IP address was posted along with their comment, the problem went away.
