Deploying blogs in northern Minnesota

Interested in how your business, organization or hastily assembled militia can better use blogging and the internet in a changing 21st century society? Check this out. I’m passing this along as a favor for my friends at Northern Community Internet, one of several fascinating online media experiments going on right now. I’m working on similar curriculum for my day job at an Iron Range community college.

Blog Training for Community Leadership with Griff Wigley

There will be a free trainingsponsored by GRAND [that’s Grand Rapids Area Non-profit Directors], the Northern Community Internet Project and the Grand Rapids Area Libraryon how to use a blog in your business, organization or community.
The training is on Friday, April 24th from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Grand Rapids Area Library from. It will include information on how to include your blog on the Grand Rapids Community Internet site at www.grandrapidscommunityinternet.org.

The training will be conducted by Griff Wigley. Wigley, based in Northfield Minnesota, is a seminar leader and a weblog coach, helping business, non-profit, government and civic leaders learn the art of strategic leadership blogging and podcasting. He co-founded Northfield Citizens Online and the Northfield.org community portal (1995-2006), and launched their citizen journalism/civic blogosphere project in 2004. He was also the “Salon Keeper” for the Utne Reader and he started its online network. Plus, he has the coolest name.
