Essar CEO: Company is committed to Range project

On Friday, Essar Steel again reiterated plans to continue with its planned integrated mine and steel facility in Nashwauk in this Mike Jennings story for the Hibbing Daily Tribune. Essar’s North American CEO Madhu Vuppuluri says that the dirt work will continue on site this year, despite the financing delay that is holding up plant construction. This comes after a month of speculation about India-based Essar’s true intentions for its international operations. Apparently the widely analyzed comments of Essar’s global president that North American projects were “on hold” was in reference to the company’s project in Trinidad and Tobago.
