Another leadership opportunity for northern Minnesota women

The Iron Range Go Run conference training women for political leadership was last weekend. Another opportunity for women interested in regional leadership is coming up.

The Rural Women’s Leadership Project (RWLP) Invites local women in the Grand Rapids area to an evening of engaging discussion & social networking!

Please join us at The MacRostie Art Center on Wednesday, May 27th, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. (405 1st Ave, Grand Rapids) Appetizers and beverages will be served. This will be a fun, informal evening! All are welcome! RSVPS are encouraged. (ruralwomensleadership@gmail.com or 218-340-7130)

RWLP is a new grass-roots organization made up of women from Itasca, Aitkin, Carlton, St. Louis and Lake Counties. We are focused on bringing rural women opportunities to connect with each other, discuss issues that are important to them and explore ways to ensure women are represented in all levels of our society.

The Rural Go Run was a fantastic opportunity to get the nuts and bolts (and encouragement and inspiration) on running for public office. 80 women from 37 cities and townships, 3 international Fellows, nearly 40% American Indian women- it was a powerful showing of how women are stepping up! After last year’s training, many women wanted the next step, ongoing on-the-ground networking and organizing opportunities. I’m so glad to see that RWLP is offering just that!! I encourage all women to check this out!
