As some of you know, one of my side projects is co-organizing Dylan Days in Hibbing, Minnesota and coordinating the Dylan Days Creative Writing Contest. Well, for those interested we just announced our 2009 contest winners. This is one of the most geographically diverse pool of winners we’ve ever seen. What’s interesting is that we actually got very few Minnesota entrants. If you’re a writer, poet or playwright (or would like to give it a shot) consider entering our 2010 contest.
Dylan Days is May 21-24, 2009 in Hibbing. There will be live music, visual art, poetry readings and the stage debut of the winning one-act playwright contest winner. I’ll be emceeing the Litarary Night again and the event will feature a reading from my book “Overburden: Modern Life on the Iron Range.” As always, the Bobby Zimmerman bus tour remains a crowd favorite and the Dylan Days Benefit Concert will include violinist Scarlet Rivera and Gene LaFond and the Wild Unknown.
