One if by blog, two if by freelance print arrangement

I’m exploring a few concepts for future blog posts, stories and columns. One is the persistent foreclosure rate in places like Itasca County on the western Iron Range. The rates are improving elsewhere but not here. I’m also going to be looking at the fiscal health of Range (and nearby) towns as they face more LGA cuts in the current state political fisticuffs. Finally, I’ll be doing some interviews on the concept of “entrepreneurship” in northern Minnesota and would love if anyone had some ideas. Seriously, give your big, fat MBAs a workout and tell me what that means. I’m actually asking the question. Better yet, common folk, tell me what YOU think the word means.

Use the comments or the e-mail in my about page. I’m going interactive, baby, and there’s no turning back.

The Northeast Entrepreneur Fund helps people start and grow successful, locally owned small businesses. Its mission is to promote the entrepreneurial spirit and create economic wealth and diversity. NEF provides training, consulting and financing to emerging and small businesses in northeast Minnesota and northwest Wisconsin.

Since 1989, the Northeast Entrepreneur Fund has helped start, stabilize or expand 1,000 businesses, helped create or retain more than 2,500 jobs, provided $9 million in loans to nearly 350 businesses, and served 10,000 people through its training, consulting and lending programs. More than 85% of business owners who receive assistance from the Entrepreneur Fund are still in business two years later.

The Greenstone Group, a new 10-year initiative of the Northeast Entrepreneur Fund, seeks to foster a culture of entrepreneurship and strengthen entrepreneurs through group-based learning, peer support and access to a variety of business services.

    FYI. You probably already knew.

  2. Hi David,
Thanks for the info. Yes, if you’re the same David I think you are we’re due to speak about this topic sometime soon. ๐Ÿ™‚ I look forward to the discussion,
    AB

  3. Nope. This is the same David who posted about the Zinema, and who thinks you put too much “cute” in Overburden.

Alas, you have no reason to talk to me, it seems. The tears flow.

  4. Darn the vague Google handles! Well, it’s good to talk to you, too David. I’ll be talking to another David this week but don’t read anything into it. ๐Ÿ™‚

  5. I am one of the “regular folks” who would like to help you with “entrepreneurship” but I first I have to figure out “fisticuffs.”
