Talking live radio on live TV tonight

I’ll be on WDSE-TV’s “The Playlist” tonight at 9 p.m. talking about our upcoming performance of the Great Northern Radio Show from Bemidji on April 7. This would be the variety show I produce, write and host with talent from around the region.

The Playlist is a live arts and entertainment program by the Duluth region’s PBS affiliate (Channel 8). Go ahead and watch your Grey’s Anatomy or 30 Rock and slide on over, would ya?

The Great Northern Radio Show airs 5-7 p.m. on Saturday, April 7 from the Chief Theatre in Bemidji, Minnesota. Tickets are free, but we ask that you call ahead and/or arrive before 4:30 to ensure that everyone has a seat before we go live. You can hear the show live on 91.7 FM KAXE in Grand Rapids, Brainerd and the Iron Range. We’ll be on the brand new 90.5 KBXE, Northern Community Radio’s exciting new station, as well. In fact, we’ll be one of the first major events broadcast on the new frequency. Naturally, a live stream and more information can be found at KAXE.org.

The show then enters a new life as a podcast and in rebroadcasts on independent public stations around Minnesota. After our October debut in Hibbing we were rebroadcast by WTIP in Grand Marais and KUMD in Duluth. We hope to reach the rest of Minnesota eventually, perhaps one day going live statewide. A boy can dream.

Find out more in the interview on The Playlist on Channel 8 at 9 p.m. tonight (Thursday, March 29). The segment will be archived online at their website afterward.
