Trampled by Turtles to play Duluth for flood relief

There had been rumblings of a concert event to benefit Duluth, Minnesota flood victims and those from affected areas in the surrounding region. Now something has come together and it’s pretty big.

The Twin Ports Bridge Festival, already scheduled for Saturday, July 7, has added a second day on Sunday, July 8 that will be entirely dedicated to raising money for flood victims. The headliner for next Sunday will be Trampled by Turtles, who are flying back from their national tour to do the show. But many of the top acts from Duluth’s music scene are part of the show as well and it promises to be an excellent show. In fact, it kind of reminds me of the recent Homegrown Music Festival condensed into a single date. Bear in mind that the Jayhawks are the headliners on Saturday, another premium act.

The first day of the festival was already slated as a fundraiser for the Music Resource Center, but once that fundraising goal is met all additional Saturday revenue will also go to flood relief.
