Mesabi Symphony Orchestra ‘pops up’ this Saturday in Hibbing

Looking for something to do on the Range this weekend? (Other than see Daniel Day-Lewis play Abraham Lincoln, which is what I’ll be doing). There’ll be some fun classical music performed at the Iron Range’s finest theater venue.

The Mesabi Symphony Orchestra is celebrating 35 years of bringing classical music to the people of northeastern Minnesota. Their current membership hails from Ely, Aurora, Gilbert, Eveleth, Mountain Iron, Virginia, Chisholm and Hibbing. Their members range from advanced students to adults of all ages.

The mission of Mesabi Symphony Orchestra is to keep classical music alive and thriving by offering area musicians opportunities to perform the standards of the orchestral repertoire; by bringing audiences high quality performances of classical music in their own communities; and by supporting and encouraging music education for students of all ages. There are many opportunities to be a part of the orchestra as a musician, an audience member, a season pass holder, or a donor.
