MinnesotaBrown hits the million mark

This morning MinnesotaBrown.com passed the 1,000,000 page view mark. This dates back to the blog’s transition to Google Blogger servers in October 2007, though the blog officially began in November of 2006.

Sure, that number includes search bots and various internet goblins. It includes myself, refreshing the blog during updates. I haven’t hit anywhere near 1,000,000 unique visitors. But most of those page views are real people, including you. We have carved a special online community surrounding the people and culture of northern Minnesota, a place I’m proud to call home.

Many things have changed since I first started hard coding HTML posts on my old website. The blog has an active presence on Facebook and Twitter, where I hope you’ll follow along. I’ve written a book and started a radio show. I’ve been honored to contribute material to many organizations I greatly respect, including Northern Community Radio, Minnesota Public Radio and MinnPost

I am extremely grateful.
