“Tornado Bob,” the contributing meteorologist at Northern Community Radio, chased the storms passing through our area last night and got video of something that’s actually pretty rare: a tornado in northern Minnesota.

The northern Minnesota tornado was sighted near Highway 200 between Remer and Hill City. It’s unclear the extent of damage, though it appears that trees took the brunt of the storm. The NWS has yet to confirm the touchdown of this tornado, but if it is at it appears this would be the first tornado in the region in my memory. We often have bad storms, but tornadoes usually swing south of here.
