The Iron Range Original Music Association (IROMA) will hold its 5th annual spring showcase Saturday night at 7 at Mac’s Bar in Mountain Iron. Seven local acts will put together six hours of original Iron Range music.

Hometown Focus has the press release:

Included in the line-up are opening solo acoustic sets by Mark Henderson and Mark Saari, followed by Rob Wheeler with his band, The Wheeler Dealers. Also in the line-up are Midwest touring artist Colleen Myhre, local favorites Four Horse Johnson, the explosive Range blues band Kindred Experience, and upstart newcomers, Average Mammals from Hibbing.

Founded in the spring of 2009 by Iron Range musicians Rich Mattson, Matt Ray and Karl Sundquist and other local musicians, IROMA’s commitment to popularizing original, local music and spotlighting the vibrant music scene on the Iron Range has given rise to numerous well-received, day-long events and smaller showcases in the past five years. IROMA has several more events planned for 2014 including a continuation of its popular singer/songwriter shows.

A number of IROMA-affiliated acts have been in the Great Northern Radio Show over the past few years, and that will surely continue.
