All Hallow’s Eve Special

My car is still in the shop so I am riding around in the family minivan today. I got to drive over the spot on 56 where I scraped three Gs worth of car parts off my wagon’s undercarriage in the car/deer incident a few days ago. The blood spot looks like an execution site and smells about how you’d expect. I figure this will count as my official participation in Halloween. Well, that and bringing the van home to shepherd the children to sanctioned candy locations tonight. (Monkey, tiger, giraffe, by the way, if you’re wondering what how boys are dressing up this year).

Some program notes, over the weekend I’ll be writing final analysis on the elections with a special focus on northern Minnesota and the Iron Range in particular. Today’s looking busy, but I’ll post if I get any fresh information. Meantime, here’s the political blog crack I consume:

FiveThirtyEight.com (the best polling site ever)

Daily Dish (Andrew Sullivan has a great outlook and apparently blogs nonstop)

Political Wire (Taegan Goddard’s site, a good, fairly unbiased roundup of political news)

And then there’s a whole series of state blogs you can find on the sidebar. And also several national blogs. And then the news sites. Detox! Detox!
