Check out arts camp for kids at Mesaba Co-op

Looking for something fun for your kid this summer? Send them to an historic spot on the Iron Range for an arts camp.

The 15th Northstar Arts Camp, June 15-18, is a day camp that offers 8-14 year-old children an opportunity to work with professional artists at the beautiful setting of historic Mesaba Co-op Park.

This year, Margo McCreary and Laurie Antonson will unite energies and inspire campers to breath new life into the Mesaba stage. Oscar Forsman and Terrance Smith will share their talents in music and dance. John Latimer, KAXE phenologist, will lead guided nature walks and do an on-air broadcast.

The camp is from 10 a.m.- 4 p.m. The cost is $80 and includes a nutritious lunch and snacks.

Mesaba Co-op Park, which is celebrating its 80th anniversary, is located eight miles east of Hibbing near the “Thirsty Moose Tavern.”

For more information/registration contact David at 218-262-5132.

The Northstar Arts Camp is supported in part with grants from Lake Country Power’s Operation Roundup and the John E. Forchette Foundation and is co-sponsered by Hibbing Community Education.
