Are you growing tired of the “hard facts” of the 2008 election? Wouldn’t your rather resume the political analysis based on hearsay and guessing we all enjoyed last year? I have just the item for you.
State Sen Tom Bakk (DFL-Cook), one of two Iron Rangers and 50-plus other DFLers considering a run for governor in 2010 has been officially “encouraged” to run by the Minnesota Building and Construction Trades Council, a collection of trade unions meeting in St. Cloud this week. (Read the campaign release). The fact that the building trades would be excited about Bakk, a union carpenter and business manager, is not surprising, but the fact that they’d essentially “recruit” him into the race is a bit unusual.
Phrase it however you want, Bakk is running for governor. Many of my questions about his chances I posed after my June interview with Sen. Bakk remain, but here we go.
