Itasca DFL kicks off major effort on Wednesday

Readers come here for many different reasons. So, my apologies to those of you uninterested in DFL campaign news.

At 5 p.m. on Wednesday, July 30 at the Itasca County DFL headquarters in Grand Rapids there will be a volunteer training session, phone banking push and — the biggie — the delivery of Al Franken lawn signs. Campaign folks are telling me they are hoping for a big turnout to ensure that state campaign resources are diverted north. In any event, this is a good time to step up your involvement if electing DFLers is your business. (And, unless you’re a Republican, it should be).

The Itasca DFL headquarters is at the corner of Highway 169 and 8th Ave. on the east side of Grand Rapids.

(DISCLOSURE: I am a member of the Itasca County DFL central committee).
