7B status update; Stenersen spurns TV for food bank

Ask and ye shall receive. Here is an anonymous assessment of the 7B primary race from a reader in Duluth:

Just a update about the 7B house DFL Primary race. I have seen a lot of (Roger) Reinert and (Marsh) Stenersen signs and billboards. John Derbis has been knocking on the doors, Brandon Clokey has been meeting with various groups and no sign of Daniel Maryland.

That seems about right to me. Reinert and Stenersen are out front with Derbis and Clokey trying to break into the spotlight. Maryland is running stealth.

Meantime, I got another press release yesterday from the Stenersen campaign. Instead of running television ads he is diverting that money to local food banks. Unique, but I don’t know how the altruistic gesture pays off unless people know he did this. This ol’ blog is only good for the insiders and a whole lot of people who live outside 7B. Cable ads are actually a fairly economical buy when a legislative district is contained within one city, so I’ll assume Stenersen could afford TV ads. This is a high risk, high reward kind of move so, again, we’ll see how this turns out.
What do you want to know about these candidates? I’ll be putting together a questionnaire for the candidates. What questions should I ask?
