Listening, the Book

Some of you might remember me talking about StoryCorps when it was outside the KAXE studios in Grand Rapids last month. It’s a collaborative project collecting interviews between loved ones and friends for archiving in the Library of Congress and occasional broadcast on NPR. It’s really cool and they got some good stuff out of Grand Rapids and northern Minnesota in general. I got an e-mail from a StoryCorps person telling me the following:

Dave Isay, the founder of StoryCorps, will be in Minneapolis this Wednesday, October 29th at the University of Minnesota Bookstore at 7 p.m. for a reading and listening from the new paperback release of “Listening is an Act of Love,” a compilation of some of the amazing stories from StoryCorps interviews. Read more about the book tour at http://www.storycorps.net/book/book-tour.

I said I’d pass it along, especially for my Twin Cities readers, and so I did. Rangers, just keep listening to your spouses as they drone on about hunting or what was found in the dryer vent. I’ll have a whole stack of book signings for you folks after the election.
