Overburden media tour fires up

I’ve been doing interviews for my new book, “Overburden: Modern Life on the Iron Range” and you’ll start to see and hear some of these in Minnesota media. Jeff Warner is writing a story that will run in the “Tailings” section of the Sunday, Oct. 12 Hibbing Daily Tribune. “Tailings” is like the A&E section, but with the TV Guide, births, deaths and spaghetti dinners mixed in; welcome to the Range literary circuit. Actually, it’s refreshing.

I did an interview with Heidi Holtan for the KAXE writing and reading show RealGoodWords that will air at 6 p.m. today and 9 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 12. It was a good talk. KAXE is at 91.7 FM in northern Minnesota and also streams online at www.kaxe.org for you cityfolk. (UPDATE: Heidi posted an amusing item about the interview tonight at her RealGoodWords blog. The photo is for the ladies).

Friday morning I’m doing an interview over at the Midwest Radio group in Hibbing with Craig and Kate. More on that to come. I’ll also have a story in the upcoming edition of Business North. There will be a lot of these in quick succession next week, involving radio, newspaper and the interwebs.

And, finally, I am happy to announce that the book is in stock for ordering online at Barnes and Noble. So those not able to shop at independent, locally owned Range or Duluth bookstores can now get your copy. It will be on Amazon.com very soon.
