Another reminder: I’ll be signing copies of my new book “Overburden: Modern Life on the Iron Range” today from 1-3 p.m. at Woodward’s in the Thunderbird Mall in Virginia, Minn.
This will be my first event in the Queen City since we started the book tour. I don’t quite know what to expect, but I have lots of friends and family in the Quad Cities (that would be the greater metroplex of Virginia, Mt. Iron, Eveleth and Gilbert). Come on down! My book makes the ideal Christmas gift for Iron Rangers, former Iron Rangers, future Iron Rangers and anyone mystified by the Iron Range.
I have been very heartened by the reaction the book is getting, especially from students and young professionals who live here or are from here. I have received some very kind e-mails that I am working on responding to properly.
So, today in Virginia … Monday at Hibbing Community College … Dec. 20 at Grand Rapids.
