‘Overburden’ tour comes to Ironworld this Saturday

This Saturday, Feb. 7, brings one of my most anticipated stops on the “Overburden: Modern Life on the Iron Range” book tour. I’ve been selected to be part of the Ironworld 2009 Lecture series and Saturday’s my big day. Ironworld is an Iron Range interpretive and historical center in Chisholm, Minn.

Starting at 2 p.m. Saturday, I’ll read from “Overburden,” discuss the book’s origins and forge into my usual discussion about the past, present and future of the Iron Range. These book events have all been very interesting and often veer in unexpected directions based on who attends. I strive to make the show worthwhile, so make plans to be at Ironworld this Saturday. You do need to pay Ironworld admission ($8 for adults, $7 for seniors and $6 for students), but that also grants you access to Ironworld’s fantastic collection of Iron Range exhibits and their current special exhibit, the Apron Chronicles, a look at how memories transmit across the generations, a concept I explore in my book.

Join me in Chisholm this Saturday!
