Range paper: Dicklich represents ‘good ol’ boys’ pick for energy board

Hibbing Daily Tribune publisher Wanda Moeller unleashed a sharp editorial today criticizing the Laurentian Energy Authority for appointing former State Sen. and longtime lobbyist Ron Dicklich to the LEA board. The LEA is the group responsible for Hibbing and Virginia’s shared biomass project which has been beset by engineering problems and cost overruns. It’s worth a read.

I won’t pile on here (seriously, Wanda finished the job) but I’ll say this. ALL our boards, authorities and committees on the Iron Range could use an injection of new blood. As Blake said, “there is poison in the standing water.”

  1. I have to say I like Ron, but if he is a registered lobbyist with GRE, isn’t that a conflict of interest?
