Chisholm tonight!

Just a reminder: I’ll be speaking at 6 tonight at the Minnesota Discovery Center in Chisholm with a humorous look at how snowmobiles, hunting and other northern mainstays play a part in Iron Range culture. The lecture is part of “Snow Dogs: Snowmobiling in Minnesota.” Thursday night is free admission night at the center, formerly known as Ironworld. I take the vantage point of a longtime Iron Range resident and native who has never exactly fit into this world of improbable machines. You might hear a few “greatest hits” from my award winning recent book “Overburden: Modern Life on the Iron Range” but more likely you’ll hear a sneak preview of my next book, which is so cool that it doesn’t even have a name yet.
