MPR: Northern Minnesota’s politics is about to get ugly

I have the MPR News Commentary today with a piece about the changing nature of Minnesota’s 8th Congressional District after Rep. Chip Cravaack’s defeat of former Rep. Jim Oberstar in 2010. Check it out and pass it along if you can.

  1. I think the fact that the 8th District hasn’t seen that much modern negativity has been the result that it hasn’t been viewed as a competitive district. Challengers had no money and Oberstar could be magnanimous in repeated landslide victories. That’s why his one negative attempt was so pathetic. The malice was real but the skills weren’t there.
