‘Art in the Park’ returns to Iron Range’s MN Discovery Center tonight

The Thursday evening summer music series at the former Ironworld, now Minnesota Discovery Center, returns tonight in Chisholm. Here’s a press release that includes other interesting tidbits as well.

Art in the Park begins June 2

Minnesota Discovery Center’s summer music series begins Thursday, June 2, at 7 p.m. with Mark Pommier’s acoustic performance in MDC’s amphitheater. At 8 p.m., Mark will be joined by other musicians on stage. Art in the Park happens every Thursday evening during summer. On June 9, Art in the Park performers will be Crescendo Youth Orchestra; June 16 features Josh Palmi at 7 p.m. and Fifth Floor at 8 p.m. Admission is free; donations to support Art in the Park are accepted. Food and beverage are available to purchase.

The release goes on to detail some other activities going on, including a big Iron Range women’s conference this weekend.

MDC’s Thursday evening trolley tour is at 6 p.m. Cost is $2 per person. Mini-golf is also open; cost is $2 per round per person. The exhibits “The Significance of Grace” and “Grace Inspirations: A Photographic Depiction of the Iron Range” are now showing. For more information about Art in the Park or other upcoming activities at Minnesota Discovery Center, including the two-day women’s expo Empowher June 3 and 4, visit mndiscoverycenter.com or call 800-372-6437.

This Empowher event is being advertised all over the place. I’ll be interested to see how they do. The headliner act is Tina and Lena. I saw them at a conference about eight years ago. It was cute and all, but a friend of mine and I left early to drink more alcohol than I’ve ever consumed in one sitting — then, later, or forever more. Anyway, Tina and Lena. And more. More is good.
