MN-8 DFLers to square off on Almanac tonight


On Aug. 14, DFLers in Minnesota’s Eighth Congressional District will vote for a party nominee to take on freshman incumbent Rep. Chip Cravaack (R-MN8). The race has been heating up steadily. Tonight we might see some sparks as the candidates, Rick Nolan, Jeff Anderson and Tarryl Clark, spar in a live televised debate on TPT’s Almanac on PBS. You can catch it locally on Channel 8 at 7 p.m. and, of course, on TPT in the Cities.

  1. Last night confirmed that the traditional DFL party in the 8th District is dead. That party was economically progressive and socially sensible. All three candidates made it clear, in response to Eskala’s question that pro-life voters aren’t part of their constituency without even a polite gesture or acknowledgement. This new DFL party is going to find it harder to compete than the old DFL party. Works for Cravaack…
