If you’ve been waiting for the podcast of our March 9, 2013 edition of the Great Northern Radio Show, recorded from our live broadcast at the Bagley High School auditorium, well, today is a big day for you. You can now hear the full, remastered version of that show.
This show went through some early struggles as we realized our show was too big for Long Lake Theater in Hubbard. We found a home in Bagley and the theater proved to be a solid venue. We had remarkably good music, featuring the Hobo Nephews of Uncle Frank, Mary Bue and Kyle Mclean, and some of our young talent from past shows, including Sonny Johnson and Katie Wig, who both turned in pro performances. Mary Bue ably filled in for our house piano player Nickolai Koivunen as well.
Several actors and guests also rounded out this lovely program, including the fantastic Sara Breeze, Mark Christensen, Erika Kooda, Scott Hanson on sound-effects and several chip-in performances from musicians and station staffers.
We had a little trouble with the audio mix on the first 15 minutes — some digital distortion — but our whiz post-production team managed to fix the damage and the show sounds great.

The next show is scheduled for Saturday, June 29, 2013 at the Myles Reif Center for the Performing Arts in Grand Rapids, Minnesota. After that, a brand new season is in the works. Stay tuned.
