Range filmmaker featured on Buzzfeed for indie film tips

Promotional still from “Pollywogs.”

Last month I shared the story of Hibbing native Karl Jacob’s independent film “Pollywogs” making its debut at the LA Film Festival. The movie was filmed on the Iron Range.

Jacob recently published an article on BuzzFeed entitled “10 Easy(ish) Steps To Making The Indie Movie of Your Dreams.”

The list is an interesting look inside the realities of making a quality low-budget film. I continue to believe there is a lot of potential to make movies in northern Minnesota. The look, the light, the landscape all provide an interesting backdrop. We’ve got winter to contend with and, for a variety of reasons, snow scares some filmmakers. (Hard to do multiple takes in real snow, and you can’t count on it).

Still, food for thought.

  1. Eventually it will click in your puppies mind and he or
she will understand it. Some reckon that if instead of trying out potty training reward charts you decide on
using candy or other things, the child will maybe develop deviant behaviour.
Some people have smooth sailing while some start
to see the good side of diapers.
