Return to a time when the lyric and melody were the essence of a song as you take this entertaining and nostalgic musical journey. Reminisce to old favorites that will bring back memories of bell bottoms, Woodstock, and when gas was 34 cents a gallon!
Groove to the timeless music of: John Denver, Gordon Lightfoot, Dan Fogelberg, The Beatles, Bob Dylan, Jim Croce, Harry Chapin, Leonard Cohen, James Taylor, Simon & Garfunkel, The Eagles, America, (and more). These are our classics – lyrics and melodies that are imbedded in our DNA…songs we know so well we are compelled to sing-a-long to them.

So, cut through the hazy marching of time and bring the past back into focus. Remember when…

Pat Surface is an award-winning singer/songwriter and leader of the popular band, the Boundary Water Boys. Born in St. Paul, MN, Pat was abandoned to the foster care system. At 2, he was adopted into a family with a formidable musical legacy – the LaPlants, and brought to Grand Rapids, MN. Pat grew to be nearly 6’8” tall and became an all-star basketball player. Then music called. Now the owner of the international, award-winning record label based in Ely, MN – Spiritwood Music of The Boundary Waters, Pat sings and plays his hand-built LaPlant guitars – reaching millions with his solo performances, and with his award-winning band.

John Ely – An award-winning steel guitarist (and dobro player) with many hit songs, two Grammys, three other Grammy nominations, and numerous recordings and TV appearances to his credit.

Jeff Menten – Jeff plays smokin’ violin and mandolin for the Boundary Water Boys. He has won many awards at the Minnesota Country Music Association competition, including Instrumentalist of the Year.

Donna Surface – as Moonbeam, The Goddess Of Groove, and also as herself – a Performance Artist in Sign for The Hearing Impaired (a combination of American Sign Language, dance and dramatic interpretation).

Marina Whight – A native of the Grand Rapids area, Marina has been involved with many local theater and musical groups. One of her musical highlights was winning Overall Grand Champion at the Minnesota Country Music Championships.
