It’s been a while since we talked about those traveling troubadours, northern Minnesota’s old timey Strike Force, the ones known as Trampled by Turtles. The progressive bluegrass band is out with a live album “First Avenue” out Nov. 12 (preorder here).
Trampled by Turtles are putting on a contest for free concert tickets in honor of “First Avenue.” You can share your favorite live Trampled by Turtles story and photo to their Facebook page, on Twitter or Instagram. TBT will select 10 favorites and award five free tickets to one of their upcoming shows.
We saw Trampled by Turtles live for the first time last spring at the Reif Center in Grand Rapids. I don’t think I’ll enter the contest, though, because while TBT was amazing, the audience was very buttoned down and I think the stoicism freaked out the band, which is used to hot crowds and dancing. I could actually see confusion in their eyes.
