David Letterman included a recent Mesabi Daily News story in a Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2014 segment about funny small town news.
As it was foretold in prophecy, the Mesabi Daily News‘ not-so-accidental boner joke from late last year was included in a David Letterman segment on funny small town news last night. Here’s video:
It bears mentioning that Team Letterman put the Mesabi Daily News story last in the segment. Humor writers save that spot for something that they are certain, beyond any shadow of doubt, will get a laugh. Way to go, MDN!
I’m starting to believe that the editors at MDN write headlines with this goal in mind. A few years ago Jay Leno (in fact, seems cheap of Letterman to rip off Leno’s routine) featured a Mesabi Daily News headline, “County needs attorney to counter county attorney.”
