It’s official. The rumor we discussed a few weeks ago is true.
Former Rep. Tom Rukavina is running for St. Louis County Board, District 4.
The announcement marks the end of a political retirement that lasted about 20 months. In retrospect, it was amazing that it lasted that long.
UPDATE: The Duluth News Tribune offered some more information, including a statement from Rukavina:
“… I promise I’ll bring the same level of compassion, honesty, and spirit to the county that people have come to expect from me as a public servant,” he said. “I want to thank retiring Commissioner Mike Forsman for his years of service to the people and wish him the best. If elected, I look forward to the opportunity to help folks wade through the bureaucracy to get their problems solved and advance the best interests of our citizens.”
