Here’s a neat story: Hibbing native, (former student of mine) and University of Minnesota-Duluth star Kate Lange just signed a professional contract to play volleyball in France. She’s the first UMD player to sign a pro deal.

I don’t know anything about professional volleyball, but I do suspect that to be a professional volleyball player in this world you have to be pretty dang good. Lange has shown that she is just that throughout her amateur career, and we wish her well in her new opportunity overseas. Here’s hoping the French cut her some slack on her Iron Range accent.
