“The Tempest” may have been William Shakespeare’s last play, but “Tempest” will not be Bob Dylan’s last album. Jay Gabler at The Current’s blog reports that Duluth-born, Hibbing-raised Minnesotan Bob Dylan will release a new album in 2015, one surely to raise some eyebrows.
Dylan’s new album will be called “Shadows in the Night,” and will feature nothing but covers of songs once sung by Frank Sinatra.
You can take a moment now to let that sink in.
Dylan will be in residence at the Orpheum Theatre in Minneapolis tonight, Wednesday and Thursday, so perhaps we’ll see if he brings out anything from the Sinatra catalogue.
Meantime, I found this story in the Star Tribune to be fascinating. Dylan is playing the Orpheum, in part, because Dylan once owned the Orpheum.
One response to “Chairman of the Bob: Dylan’s next album to cover Sinatra”
Bob’s favorite group (at least for this week):
Jimmy Buffett and the Smorgasbords.
