Hot times at the Great Northern Radio Show

We’ll be live with a summertime edition of the Great Northern Radio Show Saturday evening at 5 p.m. The show features music from the Holy Hootenanners and The Don’t Tell Darlings. Our all-star house band led by Katie Houg plans some great surprises. Beyond that, we do comedy and storytelling centered in Northern Minnesota but accessible to anyone. (Find out more about this show).

For this episode, I explored notions of nostalgia and summer nights, the hazy feelings recalled easily when the weather turns hot and muggy.

We still need people in the audience, so get your tickets now or at the door. You may also call 218-327-5780. We ask the studio audience to arrive by 4:30 so we can get ready for the live broadcast. We wrap it up with plenty of time to get back out on the lake before sunset.

For those of you out and about Saturday, you can listen from 5-7 p.m. on Northern Community Radio. They broadcast at 91.7 KAXE (Grand Rapids area and the Iron Range), 90.5 KBXE (Bagley and Bemidji), 89.9 FM (Brainerd) and 103.9 FM (Ely). Tune in from anywhere in the world at KAXE.org.
