The “Between You and Me” show topic for Saturday, April 4 is “jokes” in honor of this week’s April Fool’s Day. Guest hosts Michael Goldberg and Gail Otteson will be taking your calls and sharing top notch music on this unique northern Minnesota program that airs 10 a.m. to noon on 91.7 KAXE. As usual, one of my essays will be featured on the program. I explore the concept of jokes, how they’re structured and how, like poems, jokes rely on the sound of the spoken word. Because this sounds really lame, I also figured out a way to say the word “fart” three times in two minutes.
